About Thai, How Are You?
When chef Somyong "Noi" Sukkij took over her restaurant in 2013, she knew she wanted a name that stood out in a crowd. And so, like many, she turned to art for inspiration. This particular piece of art was a mural just outside the building that depicted Jeremiah the Frog, who is perhaps best known by his appearance on the cover of Daniel Johnston's 1983 album Hi, How Are You?. After reaching out to Johnston, Noi named her Thai restaurant Thai, How Are You?. Since then, Noi and her staff have served over 300,000 customers with the 75 different dishes on her menu. Guests can order up plates of sushi such as Jeremiah's Roll, which is made up of yellow tail, salmon, Thai chili, onion, and ponzu. Or, they can opt for a warm Thai dish, such as pad thai, pad see ewe, or panang curry.
