That Bar-B-Q Place may just serve the best southern-style barbecue north of the 49th parallel. It all started with owner Dave Brosseau, whose previous professional travels took him all over the American south. It was his travels that first sparked Dave's obsession with barbecue, an obsession that led to many unslaked cravings once he was back at home in Canada. Dave knew that his only choice was to open a restaurant of his own, which is exactly what he did, bringing his wife Trina on board, and soliciting the help of well-traveled pit master Bruce St. John.
Today, customers are likely to find That Bar-B-Q Place's twin smokers working overtime to churn out meats that are slow-smoked over applewood and generously rubbed with the kitchen's own spice blend. The slow-smoked pulled pork, beef brisket, turkey breast, and ribs only further benefit from a flavorful slathering of one of the shop's three homemade barbecue sauces. And don't forget house-made sides like cole slaw, buttermilk corn bread, and smoked baked beans, or the iced tea, which is made using real Texas tea leaves.
