Great fun for anyone!!! Take your friends, kids, even your spouse. You would be surprised at how creative everybody can be when having fun. Service is great but be patient. Some days there is just one worker but they are quick to please.

Crafting your way into someone's cupboard is the craftiest way into his or her heart. For $15, you'll get $35 worth of paint-your-own pottery at That Pottery Place Studio. Located in the Suburban Plaza Shopping Center, the creative retail retreat has helped nurture creative straw into kiln-fire-able gold for the past 10 years. While customers can purchase up to five Groupons, they can only use one Groupon per individual visit, or combine two Groupons toward a party or camp at That Pottery Place Studio.

Aspiring artists enter the roomy studio and start by selecting their piece from a variety of paintable vessels. Customize margarita glasses ($18–$25) in time for Cinco de Mayo, decorate a cookie jar ($45), or lend a personal stroke to Fido's dish ($16–$45). Just like in days of smocks and recess, customers then bound back to tables for the creation process. Item pricing is inclusive, so visitors won't pay an extra studio fee on top of their item fees. Once you've thoroughly coated your piece in hieroglyphics and peace signs, the friendly staff will forever seal your design with a proper kiln firing. That Pottery Place usually fires twice a week, so all completed pieces will be ready for pick-up three to five days after your initial visit. Guests are encouraged to bring along sustenance (food, drinks, and alcoholic beverages for those over 21 are all acceptable) to spike inspiration.

For those who prefer to issue silent threats of artistic prowess to a party of their enemies, That Pottery Place also offers special-occasion party packages for kids and adults. Ideal for birthday parties, the Kids' Party Shelf package is available for a minimum of five painters under 17 years old ($15 per child, plus $25 deposit). That Pottery Place also offers a summer art camp with nine sessions slated this summer. Apply two Groupons toward one of the week-long sessions ($180 each), where campers hone slip-casting, slab-rolling, and bisque-painting skills in addition to other arts and crafts. That Pottery Place features complimentary parking and makes a fun night out, whether you bring juice boxes and kids or a bottle of wine and a pizza to share with friends.

About That Pottery Place

That Pottery Place Studio’s shelves brim with hundreds of unfinished ceramic pieces, each ready to blossom with a completely unique bouquet of colors and designs. Animal-painted plates sit propped alongside decorative birdbaths, planters, coffee mugs, and owl figurines designed to scare pigeons away from the china hutch. Guests can throw their creativity at these 3D canvases using the studio’s stencils, brushes, sponges, and dozens of glazes. Staff members make the rounds sharing tips on technique and helping sort through idea books with painters during open studio time.
