My boys learned alot and actually enjoyed the class. They have already pointed out some of my own "violations"

Students learn skills such as proper greetings and conversation topics or practice social and dining refinement during a three-course meal

Fine dining requires a little etiquette—you don’t want to dig into your dessert with a fork that’s meant for eating salad or making the holes in the saltshaker bigger. Pour on the charm with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • $20 for a one-hour good-manners workshop for one (a $43 value with registration fee included)
  • $37 for a two-hour family dining-etiquette class for one with a three-course meal (a $78 value with registration fee included)

During the manners workshop, children ages 5–12 or 12–17 learn skills such as greetings and handshakes, appropriate conversation topics, or how to project self-confidence via posture and poise. The family dining-etiquette class allows adults, teens, or kids ages 8+ to practice social pleasantries during a three-course meal. Students walk away knowing more about the proper use of silverware, passing and requesting food, and the politest way to inform a fellow diner that the candles are inedible. See the class schedule.

The Academy of Etiquette & Charm

Lashaune Tisdale, a graduate of the American School of Protocol, founded The Academy of Etiquette & Charm after recognizing a need for structure and civility in today's fast-changing world. Tisdale teaches kids and adults etiquette lessons on topics including formal dining, personal grooming, and public speaking. She offers lessons for individuals or groups, using curricula that incorporate verbal instruction and presentations with worksheets, arts and crafts, and hands-on, pinkies-up practice.

Tisdale's Darling Young Ladies program—a spinoff of her prepageant program—promotes a positive self-image and better social skills. Her Elite Hostess classes help party planners to hone cooking skills, set elegant tables, and turn any conversation into a friendly "soda" versus "pop" debate.
