The Actors' Boot Camp acquaints performers with a variety of techniques and disciplines, aiming to physically and mentally outfit them for acting careers. Each boot-camp teacher is an accomplished actor who, at all time, carries their MFAs from places such as Rutgers, Irvine, and Yale. The tool-based, practical acting lessons increase range, understanding of fundamentals, and likelihood of earning a role on the upcoming sequel to Saving Private Ryan. Classes cover the core components of the Meisner and Michael Chekov techniques, scene analysis and cold-reading skills, and voice and movement work to transform bodies into well-oiled perpetual acting machines. With small, intimate class sizes, students will receive personal attention while being both pushed and nurtured by teachers and fellow students.
What started as a bunch of struggling actors raving, rambling, and soliloquizing together in the park is now—5,000 actors and seven years later—almost the exact same thing, but with a refined process, three theaters, and an effective, exacting curriculum: 1,000 of those 5,000 have since landed professional television and film employment. The program has even been endorsed by actors such as Rainn Wilson (Dwight Schrute of The Office) and Oscar-winning actor/director/producer Sydney Pollack.
- I fell in love with the Acting Corps because of the atmosphere and the style of teaching. – AnaisAimee, Citysearch
- I have learned a great deal about myself and the kind of actor I want to be. The teachers do not coddle your bad habits, but instead, give you the tools to break free of them. – MerFair, Citysearch

About The Acting Corps
The Acting Corps, a school endorsed by Oscar winner Sydney Pollack as well as Rainn Wilson of The Office, takes a modern approach to acting instruction. In classes with an average of 16 students, creativity flows unimpeded and students overhear the whispered names of Hollywood’s best agents quite clearly. Actors with MFA degrees lead programs that help acting students find an authentic style, and also pilot advanced classes with mock auditions that challenge experienced actors. Four- or six-week acting boot camps incorporate aspects of the Meisner technique and the Michael Chekhov technique. In classes engineered for international acting students, teachers elucidate methods for developing a convincing American accent or faking a convincing cheeseburger craving.
