Eagles may seem to effortlessly soar from the day of their birth, but it’s their years of hard-fought acrobatic experience that allow them to balance precariously on just one narrow beam of air. Take to the skies with today’s Groupon: for $14, you get one circus-training class at The Aerial Classroom (up to a $35 value). Experience this unusual, fun, total-body workout at The Aerial Classroom’s locations in Santa Ana, Hesperia, or Encino. The Encino classroom is in the backyard of a private residence, so its address will be given only upon registering for that location. This Groupon is not valid for The Aerial Classroom’s workshop classes or its stretch class in Encino.
The Aerial Classroom’s experienced acro-stunt artists bring ballet, Cirque du Soleil, and circus training to their instruction for the school’s numerous drop-in classes ($30–$35, depending on the location). Garner a new appreciation of the tensile strength of silk in the aerial tissu, where you climb on and wrap yourself in bands of hanging fabric, or get serious about grandstand handstanding in the hand-balancing class. Get the basics in spinning around and around and around in static trapeze, or build your flexibility, work out kinks, and scratch your nose with your big toe in the contortion session. Many students have followed in the footsteps of their teachers, traveling on to perform death-defying acts of grace and will at Disneyland, Club Med, Aerial Showgirls, and San Francisco’s City Circus.
Classes are scheduled for as often as five times a week and during various times throughout the day. The Aerial Classroom’s Encino classes are held outdoors, so in addition to bringing water, comfortable yoga-type clothing, and a mat, students attending that location are encouraged to dress for the weather. If these high-flying acts have left you beguiled, look no further than the FAQs page. Enroll with The Aerial Classroom as you once again prepare to run away and join the circus—this time without the ill-fated attempt at lion taming.
Both new and existing clients can choose any one of six aerial classes, though some are not taught at all locations. Must be at least eight years old to participate.

They have also received a lot of press, including articles in the Orange County Register and Orange Coast magazine: > * Occasionally, if a Sunday show is scheduled at the Galaxy, the tissu class moves outside to neighborhood parks. There, instructors toss the ropes over sturdy tree branches. Then they flutter through the trees like wood nymphs. – Blythe Bernhard, OC Register > * It offers an opportunity to feel like a real Cirque du Soleil performer. – Linda Melone, Orange Coast
