Reap the rewards of ancient ways of life with today's Groupon: for $39, you get your choice of a 10-class pass or one month of unlimited yoga at The Ashram Yoga in Kirkland (up to a $135 value).
The Ashram Yoga brings warm and hot yoga to students ready for spiritual and physical healing, refreshment of the mind, and newfound health. Offering Bikram-style yoga, Power Yoga, Bar Yoga, and kids' sessions, the packed schedule boasts 64 classes per week, helping busy clients work regular classes into cluttered lives.
Opt for a 10-class scatterpack of classes to sample yoga styles at leisure over several months, or seek flexion-based serenity with one month of unlimited classes. Try your hand at Bar Yoga, which fuses ballet and yoga together and utilizes a bar to lean out the body, or pop into a Bikram class—90 minutes of 100+ degree heat that works out every major organ system. Yogis can clarify their minds in the Long Slow Flow session, a calming, detoxifying 90 minutes, deepen a practice with Power Yoga, which improves flexibility and relaxation in the hot room, or focus on breathing techniques in the Cool Power class, full of twists, inversions, and antigravity moon-boot bouncing.
Two practice rooms offer plenty of space to spread out during sun salutations, and the advanced heating and ventilation systems ensure the air circulating around every corpse pose is fresh and clean. Spacious changing rooms equipped with showers refresh glowing bods, and hydration-seeking yogis can avail themselves of the orange-juice bar up front trickling drinkable karmic enlightenment.
The Ashram Yoga
Gary Olson taught martial arts, trained in meditation, and worked as a musician for much of his life, but the only discipline that allowed him to combine those passions was yoga. These mediums inform the sequences at The Ashram Yoga, which take structure from his martial-arts training, incorporate mindfulness from his meditative practices, and flow from his music career. He and a vast team of instructors lead seven styles of yoga, ranging from Hot Power Yoga and Classic Bikram Yoga in the hot room to the meditative Yin and playful Yang classes in the warm room.
They also teach kids' yoga classes on weekends that introduce wee ones to postures with fun movements. They strive to boost kiddos’ self-discipline and self-esteem and help them productively cope with the stresses of school and tax season for their lemonade stands.
In addition to yoga classes, The Ashram Yoga regularly holds Deva Meditation training sessions and workshops that encourage clients to develop personal meditative practices.
