All three people I interacted with were friendly—from the front desk, to the MA (who took care of me for two-thirds of the appointment), and finally the doctor. Though I used a Groupon, there wasn’t pressure to purchase frames at this appointment; I had to put off purchase anyway since I’ve no insurance but they do offer a “half now, half later” option which is very helpful!

LASIK treatments can help address such visual deficiencies as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. After leading a consult to confirm candidacy, the doctors schedule surgery, which begins with the creation of a small flap on the corneal surface. A laser then reshapes the curvature of the cornea under the flap according to calibrations customized for each patient. Next, the flap is replaced and allowed to fuse to the rest of the cornea, which doesn’t require any stitches or sutures. Eyes typically heal well enough for patients to see after one day, and many procedures result in 20/20 or better vision.

About Atlanta Vision Clinic
Dr. Leonard R. Achiron graduated from the New England College of Optometry with honors, but he’s not just book smart—he’s also laser smart. Dr. Achiron has co-managed more than 50,000 Lasik procedures as a former professor of the Emory Eye Center and clinical director of Lasik Vision Institute. Like him, each of his colleagues on the center’s team of ophthalmologists has performed tens of thousands of eye surgeries, alleviating ailments ranging from nearsightedness and farsightedness to cataracts. At their clinic, they also pool their talents to treat eyes with nonsurgical services, such as exams, contact lens fittings, and glasses for those who never took to their lessons on how to squint harder.
