What You'll Get
Candy necklaces and ring pops look great, but many prefer the nuanced mouthfeel and clean finish of precious gems and metals. Show off sophisticated taste with today's Groupon: for $30, you get two classes (up to a $60 value) and 20% off materials on class day at The Bead Lounge's Woodland Hills location. This Groupon is not valid for fused-glass classes or PMC classes.
Multitudes of brightly colored beads, Swarovski crystals, and unique charms populate The Bead Lounge's whimsical boutique, which offers space for burgeoning bauble buffs to forge their own distinctive jewelry. Necklace novices can learn the handsomely ornamented ropes of adornment design with an array of classes, where veteran bead wranglers instruct and illuminate a variety of techniques as students string beads brought from home or plucked from the festooned fields of the store's selection (Groupon holders get a 20% materials discount on class day).
A class in bead-stringing basics hones skills in creating stable and sophisticated strands, and leather-knotting classes bring tan and trinkets together to create leather bracelets, necklaces, and distinctive saddles for weekend emu races. Wire-wrapping and wire-ring classes capture gems and jewels in protective metal coils to shield from playground taunts by envious sedimentary ore, and classes in crochet and macramé weave well-formed finery from silk or cotton cord. Unlike tax-day parties or the inconvenient vernal equinox, classes can be scheduled at each student's convenience, and include a complimentary refresher course within six months of the initial class.
The Bead Lounge, previously called The Bead Bar, has been featured in Calabasas magazine.
