really great experience. all the staff and volunteer docents were so kind and knowledgeable, generously sharing their stories and wisdom. the museum itself is beautiful and full of so many interesting hawai’ian artifacts and even an interactive area for kids (and adults!) to play with. we loved our time and would love to visit again some day. mahalo and aloha

The Bishop Museum is THE resource for understanding the full history of the Hawaiian Islands. We revisit on each trip because it's almost impossible to experience it all in one day (especially if you also buy tickets to the Planetarium). The exhibits are impressive with notations both enlightening and well presented.

We knew from locals that we'd love touring the Bishop Museum. We could've spent hours there to learn so much about the culture and history of Hawaii. A lot of reading and walking, so it may not be as well-suited for engaging a younger crowd. I'd skip the traveling Dino exhibit... it was sensory overload, but surely a blast for kids. The science exhibit was underwhelming - 10 minutes was all we needed there. Overall, the Bishop Museum itself was excellent and well worth the trip.

I have no words that will give this place or the history any justice. Go and see its worth it.
