Muscle weighs more than fat, making retired bodybuilders nature's best paperweights. Get buff and avoid scattered utility bills with today's Groupon: for $25, you get a 30-minute private workout (a $40 value) and three 60-minute group classes (a $60 value) at The Boxing Club.
Strength-building workouts and self-defense comingle in The Boxing Club’s assortment of fitness and combat-sports training classes. A half-hour private workout with an experienced trainer develops skills in a specific discipline, such as boxing, kickboxing, or weight training, providing a welcome departure from Sisyphean treadmills, stair-stepping machines, and boulder rolling. With one-on-one attention, iron-pumpers will develop greater awareness of their workout strengths and weaknesses, and discover possibilities for improvement. The Boxing Club also offers classes in boxing, Muay Thai kickboxing, and combat conditioning, all led by experienced trainers. Classes are open to children and adults, beginners and old pros, and crouching marmots and hidden gila monsters. Check the schedule for class times and availability.

The Boxing Club
The Boxing Club, as its name suggests, is wired for boxers. Its owner, USA-Certified Boxing Coach Rosie Barker, has furnished the space with boxing studio essentials such as a ring, weights, and punching bags. Despite that, the studio doesn't strictly teach boxing. Rosie and her staff also teach kickboxing, sparring, and kenpo classes for kids, teens, and adults. Rosie has an affinity for kenpo, having more than 35 years of martial arts experience and black belts.
