The Café at Brookwood serves up gourmet lunches seven days a week while also supporting the community's mission. Proceeds from the cafe contribute to the tuition for adults who live at Brookwood, a teaching facility for those with functional and intellectual disabilities.

Not only is the cafe anchored by a good cause, the seasonal menu is also created by award-winning chef Michael Fernandez, who was trained at The Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park New York, and has worked in five-star hotels from Austin to Maui.

• Lemon chicken Among Chef Fernandez's specialties, this lightly breaded chicken breast is sautéed with lemon butter sauce, and plated alongside roasted garlic mashed potatoes and fresh veggies.
• Vegan plate: An assortment of grilled veggies, including asparagus, yellow squash, zucchini, red bell peppers, succulent mushrooms, with garlic-sautéed spinach
• Grilled cheese sandwich: This kids' menu mainstay combines cheddar cheese and homemade bread, served with hand-cut french fries or fresh fruit.
