About The Colebrookdale Railroad

Trains on the The Colebrookdale Railroad still ferry passengers and goods down the same tracks laid just after the Civil War. The surrounding lands, architecture, and industry have changed little the intervening 150 years, so rides on the line's locomotives also act as a journey through the area's history of ironworking. Given that the railroad passes through beautifully serene woodlands that are home to white-tailed deer and bald eagles, it's no wonder that the conductors call it the Secret Valley Line. The train also passes by old forges, ironworks, and even the historic Georgian-style Pottsgrove Manor, a mansion built by Pottstown founder John Potts in 1752.
