The Collings Foundation

Once, they roamed the skies, keeping America safe from threats both at home and abroad. Now, the planes of the Wings of Freedom tour report for a different duty: educating future generations of historians. In keeping with its mission to educate the public on living history, The Collings Foundation takes these warplanes on the road, often near the airfield where they once served. Tour-goers may peruse vintage planes from the days of early flight and marvel at rare bomber and fighter aircrafts from World War II, including a B-17 Flying Fortress bomber, a B-24 Liberator, B-25 Mitchell, and a P-51 Mustang fighter.

Customer Reviews

This is a great Tour, promoting an important part of our history and honoring those who experienced it first hand. Such a nice deal to get two admissions for the price of one!

We visited the Wings of Freedom Tour at a local airport. Given the price we paid for admission, we were hoping for more of a "tour" with someone speaking about each of the planes. It was completely on your own. We tried to buy a t-shirt at the end, and we couldn't get someone to wait on us even though the table was not busy. We finally just walked away. Just not the interactive adventure we were hoping for.
