What is the difference between the Commonwealth membership and the Inforum membership?

Nicole B.  asked on  Mar 19, 2013

Good question Nicole. Inforum is simply the category name of membership for people age 35 and under. All the access and benefits are the same.

Q:

We are moving to San Francisco in 6 months and would love to be members! I see the groupon expires in March 2014. Does that mean I have until March 2014 to start my year membership, or will it start when I purchase the groupon?

Molly P.  asked on  Mar 18, 2013

A:

Hi Molly. You have until March 2014 to activate the membership, so you're welcome to buy this one now and activate it when you get here. Welcome to San Francisco!

Q:

I need to know what is a free Monday and Friday event, and what are the events one must pay for, in addition to our membership? When a big name, such as Hillary Clinton or Willie Brown, come to speak, approximately how much extra will I have to pay to see them? I guess what I'm asking is what is "free with membership," and what is "extra, with membership" and how much, on average, that "extra" will cost? Thank you very much - DAK

Douglas K.  asked on  Mar 16, 2013

A:

Hi Douglas. Good question. We do over 450 events a year. About 75 of them are on Mondays or Fridays and are entirely free for members. Of the other 375 events, most are $20 for nonmembers and between $8-$12 for members. So, as a member, you save between 40-60% on standard ticket prices. Yes, a handful of the most prominent events, like Hilary Clinton, will be held in larger venues and result in higher ticket prices. Hillary Clinton was $50 for nonmembers and $25 for members. You can readily see actual pricing by looking at scores of upcoming events at www.commonwealthclub.org/events.
