What You'll Get
The Minneapolis-based ensemble famed for blending traditional Spanish dance technique with exciting new theatrical ideas unveils its latest passionate performance at the Cowles Center. Choreographed by company founder Susana di Palma, Lorca's Women is a suite of dances inspired by the sensual female characters who haunt the poetry and tragedies of Spain's esteemed writer Federico Garcia Lorca. The intensely expressive Zorongo Flamenco dancers will be accompanied by a collection of brilliant live musicians and singers, who'll trace the steps of Lorca's powerful archetypes up to today.
There’s an audience-engagement discussion following the performance on Saturday, April 16.
