We did not know what to expect but loved the experience. The lady at the Crater check in was very efficient and pleasant. She explained everything very well and was extremely helpful. We will be back!

The crater was very cool and the water was very warm and felt good! It was a bit confusing trying to find the activity center to check in. We also had to swim with the scuba class so we were unable to go underwater. Other than that it was a cool experience!

That was a fun little day adventure! It was neat to walk up to the top & look down inside and take in the view with some sunshine while waiting for our entry time! The staff was nice & helpful, the grounds and crater were kept. We ended up taking off the snorkel & just floating. It was perfect temperature and so relaxing. We’ll definitely go back!

The lack of information on the procedures and ability to get a hold of anyone at the crater is frustrating. There was a scuba class going on at the same time as our group so they took up 1/2 the crater.

It was nice but they DO NOT allow you to free dive. You must wear a life jacket the whole time. The older guy minding the pool and the equipment was pretty condescending

About The Crater at Homestead Resort

From the outside, it's hard to tell The Crater at Homestead Resort even exists. You can only see the 55-foot limestone mound that sits over it, offering shelter and protection. But peer down through a hole in the stone—the same one that lets in sunlight and fresh air—and you'll discover an entire world below. It's a pool of snowmelt that gathered 2 miles deep in the ground over the past 10,000 years before percolating upward and gathering minerals along the way. The earth itself heats the water and the air around it to about 90–96 degrees. Guests walk through a tunnel at ground level to get to the geothermal pool, where they can swim and explore, scuba dive, snorkel, or take a yoga class atop standup paddleboards.
