Welcome to Groupon, Saskatoon! For our inaugural deal, $7 gets you six cupcakes (a $14 value) at The Cupcake Conspiracy located at 157 2nd Avenue North (entrance on 23rd Street) downtown. Since this is everyone's first Groupon, allow us to briefly explain how it works.
How Groupon Works
Groupon is a combination of the words group and coupon. Each day, we offer an unbeatable deal on the best of Saskatoon: restaurants, spas, sporting events, theatre, and more. By promising businesses a minimum number of customers, we get discounts you won't find anywhere else. We call it "collective buying power." If you want to get the deal, just click BUY before the offer ends at midnight. If the minimum number of people (10 for today's deal) sign up by the end of the day, you'll be emailed a gift certificate the next morning. You can print your Groupons, or redeem them with our mobile app. Use them whenever you want until the deal expires—today's expires in six months. If not enough people join, no one gets the deal (and you won't be charged), so invite your friends to make sure you get the discount!
Before cupcakes, the only vehicle for frosting consumption was the bare hand, and the only place to load frosting onto that vehicle was the neighbourhood frosting bucket. Eat frosting the evolved way with today's Groupon: for $7, you get six cupcakes (a $14 value) from The Cupcake Conspiracy on 2nd Avenue North.
The Cupcake Conspiracy is a locally owned boutique cupcake bakery serving freshly baked buttercream-crested treats to cake-craving patrons. All cupcakes are made from scratch using the owners’ grandmother's recipes, which they have tweaked and fine-tuned since they were knee-biting batter nibblers. Choose from 15 suspiciously named flavours such as the Secret Service, the Bermuda Triangle, the Chocolate Cover-Up, and the Corporate Monkey to create a six-pack that covers all major food groups and taste-bud tendencies. Like black-market peanut butter, the cupcakes are peanut and tree-nut free, made from locally sourced ingredients when possible, and come in gluten-free options. The Cupcake Conspiracy is also committed to being an eco-friendly eatery and uses 100%-recyclable packaging that is not coated in any harmful chemicals or insidious tweed blazers.
