The Dirty Pickle builds artisanal sandwiches with Boar's Head meats, local produce & sauces, and even fresh bread from Sweet Chessie's Bakery. Visitors can choose from options such as the Piggy Stayed Home with green tomatoes, pesto, pear, goat cheese, and arugula, or they can opt for the Dutch Dragster with hickory-smoked salami, garlic sauce, homemade-everything hummus, and roasted red peppers. Sandwiches can be paired with Sprecher's microbrewed sodas. Diners can also enjoy customizable ramen, and the shop's signature "dirty pickle," a gherkin that's been brined with zesty spices from a 4th-generation family recipe.
The food was excellent! It was hard to decide what to order - the menu isn't extensive, but each choice was really unique and tempting. The employees were friendly and helpful, and the space is comfortable and inviting. I'll definitely be back!

Excellent sandwich, beverages were over priced and the person preparing the food needed a hair net.

Rose- thank you for your comments. Allow me to address them individually. First our beverages are not "traditional". We believe in providing healthy, quality items. Our drinks are not sweetened with high fructose corn syrup and Chemically processed. Therefor, they are far more expensive to our store then a fountain drink. Our mark up is minimal to ensure healthy options over profit margins. We do offer free water at all times to our customers to ensure we are providing the best possible experience.
As for the hair nets- PA code § 46.152 states with regards to Hair restraints... "Employees shall wear hair restraints such as hats, hair coverings or nets". Due to the public view aspect of our employees we have been advised the hats, bandanas, headbands are an effect means of hair covering. To date, we have never had an issue with this topic and passed our states health inspections with flying colors. We do hope you will try us again after we move.
