Helmed by krav maga master Barry Boardman and his team of experienced instructors, The Fighting Fit rolls out high-energy self-defense classes for children and adults of all fitness levels. Hit the open training floor for a one-hour session in krav maga, which introduces a flurry of kicks, punches, boxing moves, and ground work to its 10–20 participants. Students will work with partners to simulate real-life situations of danger—such as an armed mugging or a slippery rogue banana peel targeting innocent walkers—then learn how to escape the predicaments with new skills while boosting self-confidence, burning calories, and toning fleshoskeletons.
The Lil’ Dragons program corrals 10–20 youngsters aged 4–6 for half-hour sessions that introduce them to martial arts and impart pertinent skills including concentration, coordination, and self-respect. Diminutive fighting forces work alongside two instructors who engage them in team-building games. Kiddies will learn basic strikes that they can later teach to the pet hamsters that guard the house during family vacations.
The Fighting Fit
At The Fighting Fit, certified instructors sharpen both kids’ and adults’ muscles and minds through CrossFit sessions. The multipurpose gym also leads CrossFit Bad Boys sessions that jump-start metabolisms and build dynamic, functional strength and balanced fitness. At least one instructor guides students and all times during classes, and the team offers personal training for individuals who fear being alone in a room with kettlebells.
