What You'll Get
Before golf was invented, grassy pastures were viewed as the exclusive territory of roaming sheep, herds of cattle, and overzealous Civil War re-enactors. Celebrate turf's competitive utility with today's Groupon: for $25, you get 18 holes of golf with a cart rental and a bucket of driving-range balls at The Golf Club at Summerbrooke (up to a $50 value).
The recently renovated course at Summerbrooke meanders through undulating pine and oak forests, challenging all skill levels with four sets of tees. The course's obstacle-riddled par 3 and par 4 holes form a solid foundation upon which to hone ball-manipulation skills, culminating in a relaxing par 5 finish that offers a chance at a birdie, eagle, or backboard-shattering tomahawk dunk. The par 72 course (up to a $45 value, including cart rental, for a round) challenges golfers with features such as the famous Contemplation Corner, which covers Holes 15–17 and thwarts curt shots with deep ravines and lengthy water obstacles. Warm up rusty strokes beforehand by thwacking a bucket of balls (a $5 value) across the practice putting green and all-grass driving range, or take the balls out of the bucket before hitting them for a less celebratory experience.

About The Golf Club at Summerbrooke
Designed by the late Dean Refram, a former PGA Tour pro and course architect who worked with Arnold Palmer, The Golf Club at Summerbrooke's 18-hole, par 72 course bounds over a diverse landscape of rolling hills, dense groves of trees, and waterways and ravines. Measuring 6,845 yards from the farthest tees, the course begins with a relatively open, par 4 first hole, graciously letting duffers find their groove before hitting into tighter fairways and treacherous tree lines. An 80-foot-deep ravine surrounds the green of the par 3 15th, which marks the beginning of the three-hole Contemplation Corner, a climactic gauntlet that challenges clubbers with forced carries, bottomless ravines, and burbling water hazards. A relaxing finishing hole, the par 5 18th settles the nerves, letting golfers swing freely as their pin-hunting odyssey draws to a close.
