The Grapes of Rock Wine and Music Festival
The Grapes of Rock Wine and Music festival celebrates the Pacific Coast’s wine culture and charitable spirit with a full day of tastings and rock and roll. After an hour of spinning from DJ Just, Pop Rocks—the self-proclaimed “Most Interesting Band in the World”—gathers a crowd for two back-to-back sets, each laden with radio classics from the ’80s to today. Then, as audience members collectively wish they had remembered their bandanas, Bret Michaels takes the stage. As the lead singer of Poison, Bret gave the world monster hits such as “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” and “Nothin’ But a Good Time.” As a philanthropist, he’s used his celebrity powers to battle diabetes and Parkinson’s disease, and his good will continues at The Grapes of Rock; the festival’s proceeds benefit The Salvation Army.
In between the music, guests mingle over samples of bold zinfandels and crisp sauvignon blancs from local vintners, as well as rich pours from breweries such as Ninkasi and Lagunitas. For food, feast on the grilled and cheesy wares of Melt, granola bars from KIND, and frosty organic treats from Three Twins Ice Cream.
