What You'll Get
Similar to tickling a bear without losing an arm, the art of breathing underwater requires hours of practice and dedication. Certify your lungs in aqueous awareness with today’s Groupon: for $249, you get a full scuba certification preparation course at The Great American Diving Company (a $600 value). Call either the St. Charles or Kirkwood location to reserve your session.
Dive into master-level underwater exploration in The Great American Diving Company's open water scuba diving prep course, where you'll follow the instructional sonar echoes of the company's PADI-certified mermen and merwomen inside the Aqua Center's custom-built indoor pool, which is kept at a Caribbean-like 85 degrees. Skilled instructors lead their aquaprentices to scuba proficiency by combining textbook, classroom, and pool sessions, as well as course materials (choose online learning or a hard-copy book and DVD) and six month subscription to Dive Training , a magazine specifically designed for new and continuing divers. In order to become fully certified, participants also need to complete four open water dives. Grab a Groupon and call for the current class calendar to see which session best fits your schedule before reserving your spot. All scuba rental gear, including wetsuit, is provided, though scuba schoolers will need to provide their own scuba quality mask, snorkel, fins, and boots, as well as a swimsuit and towel.

About The Great American Diving Company
At The Great American Diving Company, swimmers and scuba enthusiasts plunge into a 10-foot-deep, custom-built training pool heated to a balmy 85 degrees. Under the guidance of PADI-certified instructors, students in Open Water Diver classes learn to breathe and explore beneath the surface, opening the doors to continue underwater education and obtain certification or finally put to rest a fear of really big puddles. Divers can gear up for their next expedition in the shop, and the staff also leads scuba trips to diving locales.
