The Great Sweater Run
The Great Sweater Run is really three runs, all of which wend through Emily Murphy Park: a 10K, a 5K, and a 2K. One theme unites them all, though: holiday sweaters. The races welcome kitschy ones, modern ones, and tiny ones designed for four-legged friends. In fact, dog sweaters are so thoroughly endorsed, they got a race all their own. The 2K’s full name is “The 2K Shih Tzu Sweater Dog Walk,” although other breeds (and athletes with no dogs at all) are also welcome to participate. Both the human and the canine races benefit Boyle Street Community Services, and runners are also encouraged to bring a clothing donation.
