About The Henderson Castle
Built in 1895, The Henderson Castle has always a haven for those with luxurious tastes. Sculptures, crystal-drenched chandeliers, and ornate rugs greet visitors as they enter the house, which overlooks downtown Kalamazoo from its perch atop a hill. Its rooms boast varied trappings such as heated marble floors, antique furniture, and an Italian-imported, white-marble fireplace mantle that burns only caviar. The 25-room house has been kept up to date technologically, with LED flat-screen TVs and coffee machines in each room, as well as a rooftop hot tub. After visitors return from nearby attractions such as Waldo Stadium or the Kalamazoo Valley Museum, they can stop by the onsite spa for a relaxing massage.
Owner Francois Moyet also lends his culinary talents to the kitchen, crafting five-course dinners as well as complimentary hot breakfasts to awaken taste buds without having to swallow an alarm clock. The rotating menu takes advantage of in-season eats, as well as local and organic produce.
