The Hollywood Corner
The chefs of The Hollywood Corner are plenty proud of their burger patties—they make them from scratch, after all—but the stuff surrounding them is pretty special, too. The sesame-studded buns come from nearby bakery Artisan Crust, and side options include sweet-potato fries and bacon or chicken chili. The burger exemplifies the formula of many of the neighborhood hangout's specialties: comforting classics, given an extra twist. The cheese sauce in a bowl of macaroni is house-made from smoked gouda, mozzarella, and swiss, which can swaddle a small farm's worth of meat and veggie add-ins. Meal-size salads are flecked with toppings such as roasted butternut squash and pita chips; even the croutons are special, made from brioche.
At brunch, bottomless mimosas flow throughout the bright, brick-walled dining room and the sun-splashed patio. You can chase them with breakfast tacos, which are loaded with scrambled eggs, chicken chorizo, and roasted tomatoes. Or, opt for the build-your-own-breakfast, which comes with all necessary city permits.
