A Chat with Katherine Woodward Music Studio at Roper Music
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
I hold a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the prestigious Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins Unviersity. I have been teaching privately for 10 years and have had training in multiple vocal techniques. Many of my students have been accepted to multiple top-notch vocal programs!
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
Students need to bring a 3-ring binder and pencil to every lesson. I will provide sheet music, however students may be asked to purchase full books from time to time.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I was inspired by my own vocal instructors throughout my life. I knew that teaching was always going to be part of my story. After having taught in classroom settings during the day and private lessons at night, I decided that private teaching was where my heart was and went full time last year.
What do you love most about your job?
I love watching students succeed. I love seeing them master a song, learn how to read music, have a vocal breakthrough, whatever their goal may be. I love helping them reach that goal and seeing their excitement when that goal is reached!
