The Light Fantastic Salonspa is an urban oasis of relaxation and beautification. More than just hair, the upscale salon spa is the only place in the Lower Haight to offer hair, skin, and body services. And The Light Fantastic isn't just the only combined salon and spa in the Lower Haight area—it's also one of the only salons in all of San Francisco to carry all-organic Phytologie and Phytomer hair and skin-care products.
The salon is new (it just opened in January), but the stylists are experienced. All of The Light Fantastic's stylists, massage therapists, and estheticians have at least five years of experience, some have as many as 20 years, and some have up to 250 years, counting past lives. Don't worry about running into the black sheep of the Light Fantastic staff because customers rave about all of the salon's stylists.
Visit the salon-spa gem for top-notch hair services like cuts, coloring, and Japanese straightening treatments. For your skin, The Light Fantastic offers soothing facial treatments that purify, hydrate, and exfoliate. As for your body, get ultimate relaxation with unique massages like "the journey" (designed for pregnant women and named after the band, Journey) and "nirvana" (a healing/therapy massage named after the band Jefferson Starship). Whether you're looking to revitalize your hair, skin, or body, The Light Fantastic offers you all the services you need in one perfectly serene setting.
The Light Fantastic Salon Spa has earned a perfect five stars on Yelp from more than 20 reviewers:
The Light Fantastic was a highly influential progressive rock band during the 1970s. Comprised of five lead singers/synthesizists, The Light Fantastic is most fondly remembered for its 1975 concept album Lancaster, York, and Me, which retold the history of England's War of the Roses from the perspective of Henry V's synthesizer-playing brother-in-law. The band's extravagant tour promoting the album—complete with professional ice dancers, a live orchestra, two choirs, and a stallion ballet—was a critical and commercial success but caused the band to go bankrupt.
After several failed solo albums and reunion tours, the band hung up their synthesizers and elaborate fifteenth-century costumes. Today, they are co-owners of The Light Fantastic Salonspa, where they've channeled their commitment to creating album-length songs into a commitment to providing relaxing beauty treatments.
