The Local Oak
The Local Oak doesn't stray far from the classics, but that only bolsters its commitment to good food and a convivial atmosphere. After the owners moved into the 1920s-built space, they decided to preserve the building's modernist exterior, weathered hardwood floor, and exposed brick walls. Those lived-in trappings give off a warm, welcoming vibe, echoed by the menu of Tex-Mex and American comfort foods. The signature burger comes topped with aioli, bacon, cheese, and a fried egg, and the green-chili chicken enchiladas arrive smothered in sour cream. At the long bar, bartenders sling beers and craft cocktails, as well as custom moscow mules blended with the customer's choice of spirit and fruit flavor.
