A Chat with Art In The Park
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Our paints are custom made weekly from fruits, vegetables, and olive oil. Together, this makes a safe, edible, and colorful product that looks great on a canvas and is safe enough for baby’s skin. The program combines music, song, and painting to challenge baby’s motor and cognitive development. Try us!
Do you provide any materials? What should your students expect to bring?
This Groupon is good for three classes. The program is indoors. We provide two canvases plus a “practice canvas.” Each student should bring wipes, a blanket or towel, and should dress in clothing that mom doesn’t mind getting soiled.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
My son is still a baby, and I started this business when I noticed how bad of a reaction he had to “nontoxic” and water-based paint. By mistake, I discovered that mangoes would stain his clothes yellow, and so I started extracting the colors from the pulp of all sorts of fruits and vegetables [to make my own paint].
What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing each parent excited and at peace, knowing that the paints will not harm their child. My child attends every session, and he participates.
