In this hilariously heartfelt one-woman show, Maria hopes a trip to her mom's hometown in Italy will shed some light on their volatile relationship. Maybe singing arias at at full voice in the supermarket and offering to sell your daughter are just quaint traditions from the Old World? But even old friends in Italy are aghast when Mom starts flinging pasta and bad poetry. Developed by Maria Grazia Affinito with David Ford at The Marsh, Eating Pasta Off the Floor has been performed for sold-out audiences at Fringe Festivals in Orlando, Santa Cruz, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Vancouver and San Francisco, taking home several awards. Affinito brings all the charm and humor of growing up in a poor immigrant family to a show the Orlando Sentinel compares to "a heart-to-heart over the kitchen table." Pull up a seat and settle in when it comes to The Marsh San Francisco MainStage Theater as part of The Marsh Discovery Series.
