What You'll Get
Much like silent-film theaters and do-it-yourself dental schools, butcher shops remain a quintessential part of the American neighborhood. Taste the tradition of take-home meat with today's Groupon: for $15, you get $25 worth of premium meats at The Meat House, valid at the Charlotte location.
The Meat House strives for community involvement by promoting local events and charities and serves up a selection of premium, all-natural, grass-fed meats to calm carnivorous cravings. Meat options include freshly butchered beef, lamb from the Midwest, Virginia-bred pork, and exotic meats such as buffalo, alligator, and ostrich—or as it's more commonly known, the megachicken. Customers can run up meatometers with marinated steak tips (approximately $19.98 for 2 lb., prices may vary per store), and poultrygeists can enjoy the clucking curse of lemon-and-pepper chicken breast (approximately $11.98 for 2 lb., prices may vary per store). The Meat House's premium proteins are dressed with signature marinades, using a process first conceptualized by a team of synchronized-swimming bovines.

About The Meat House
Hoping to revive the culture of the neighborhood butcher shop, with its personalized service, attention to detail, and artful products, restaurant-industry veterans Justin Rosberg and Jason Parent took a gamble on their first New Hampshire butcher shop in 2003. Dubbed The Meat House, their store quickly earned a foodie following, spawning additional franchise locations across the country. Today, The Meat House’s many locations stock fine cheeses, prepared side dishes, other gourmet grocery items, and hundreds of wines alongside the usual selection of traditional and exotic meats. Butchers also explain how to prepare each hand-carved cut of meat, sharing recipes, best slicing practices, and cooking techniques for giving pork chops the flavor of justice.
