The Mexican Palace
Diners may have a bit of a shock walking into The Mexican Palace expecting a traditional south-of-the-border-style eatery. Despite the restaurant's name, Mexican cuisine is just one part of the equation. The other part? American steakhouse fare. This unique dichotomy stemmed from the mind of the head chef, Jose Salvador, who's always had a dream of leaving behind a distinctive fingerprint on the Indianapolis culinary scene. After earning his chops at the prestigious Ruth's Chris steakhouse, Chef Salvador was able to put his experience and know-how to use making his dream a reality. Here at The Mexican Palace, he's created a truly out-of-the-box menu that fuses his cultural heritage with his love of classic steakhouse food.
Every section of this eclectic menu represents both types of cuisine—the soups include pozole and chicken and vegetable, the lunch entrees include enchiladas and beef milanese, and sides range from guacamole to sauteed mushrooms. Come dinnertime, one can order the likes of petite filets, al pastor tacos, or—if his or her mother says it's ok to have two dinners—both.
