About The Mulefoot Gastropub
Michael Romine knew exactly what he wanted to do with his life when he was just six years old: become a renowned chef. His brother and Mulefoot co-founder Matt, on the other hand, didn't realize his knack for cooking until he was 20. But regardless of when each brother aligned himself with his culinary vocation, one thing is clear: a love of food—local food, in particular—runs in the Romine family. Bonded by this mutual passion, the familial duo opened Mulefoot Gastropub, a farm-to-table establishment that prepares meats and produce from community farms, some less than 10 miles from restaurant.
But don't let the concept fool you—Mulefoot is anything but a pretentious fine-dining establishment. Sure, you'll find upscale dishes like foie gras, truffle sausage, and filet mignon on the rotating seasonal menu, but the brothers consider the place a pub first and foremost. That means no dress code, a charming rustic-chic vibe, and plenty of hand-crafted cocktails and local brews to go around. In other words, they want their guests to show up with a laid-back willingness to clink a glass or two with friends and family before (and during) their approximately 2-hour dining experience.
