Early humans developed the ability to sprint in order to chase down sprightly prey and invented long-distance running to escape from slowly approaching glaciers. Follow in their fossilized footsteps with this Groupon.
- $27 for one entry to The Neon Run (up to $54.88 value)
On Saturday, October 4, starting at 7 p.m., runners don either glowing costumes or plain white T-shirts for a neon-themed 5K. The race’s course wends through glow stations, which spritz runners from above with a clothing-safe, water-based spray that radiates light. The race closes with a finish-line party dubbed the Neon Festival, which provides live entertainment.
Each registration includes a runner’s bib, neon run headband, a small neon glow bottle or color packet, and a post-race refreshment. Runners should arrive at least one hour before their assigned wave time and allow plenty of time to park. For more information, see the event details and the race FAQs.
The Neon Run
The Neon Run brings the age-old traditions of running competitions into the 21st century, using a 5K course built around glow stations, from which a water-based formula rains down on runners. The liquid radiates light; coupled with the black lights and LED along the route, it creates a surreal confusion of color. The race culminates in a Neon Festival, in which each runner is armed with a personal bottle of glow paint or powder.
