Counseling vs. Coaching: Here's the deal. You know you need help, but it's really hard sometimes to articulate exactly what you need help with. You're at a point in your life where it's time to make a change. Both coaching and counseling can help with that change, so let's dive a little deeper to figure out what would be the best option for you. In a counseling relationship, you will come into our office in Dallas, GA. You will meet one on one with a therapist who can accurately assess and diagnose your needs. Together, you and your therapist will create a treatment plan so you can reach your unique goals. In this type of service: you will receive a diagnosis (if there is a diagnosis to be made), you can use your insurance, services will be in office, you will have one on one attention, you can create a unique treatment plan. So, if you have a specific mental health concern, such as anxiety, and you don't want to be anxious anymore, counseling is going to be the best route for you. Coaching is a little different. Anyone can benefit from a coach, but it does not explicitly treat mental illness. I think about life and health coaching the same way that I think about athletic coaching. You want to get better at what you're doing! Just as with athletic coaching, life and health coaching programs are designed around specific areas of need. At this time, The Northrop Connection offers a program called "The Abundant Transformation", which is a life coaching program designed to help women create space for what matters most! Specifically, we coach on decluttering your home, creating an abundant mindset, learning how to spend less, pay down debt, and increase wealth. We also discuss communication and strategies to involve your family in your journey. Most importantly, we define what an abundant life means to you. You have a profound purpose in this life, and we want to help you achieve that. Coaching services are offered online with a combination of self directed learning and weekly live coaching with your Health or Life Coach! You will not have a diagnosis, though you will have an individualized assessment if you seek coaching. Insurance cannot be used in a coaching service.
