About The Palms Golf Club at Forest Lakes
The brains behind The Palms Golf Club at Forest Lakes claim that players have to use every club in their bag when they play here. Why? Because each hole is so different from the others. But variety isn't the only thing that makes this an enjoyable play. The Gordy Lewis–designed course also features TifEagle bermuda grass greens and Celebration bermuda grass fairways, both of which were created to withstand constant manicuring and golfers spiking their balls in celebration after making a putt. Read on to preview some of the course's holes:
Hole 1: This par 4 challenges golfers right out of the gate by requiring players on the back two tees to drive the ball over a lake and toward a hole that has water surrounding it on each side.
Hole 7: This par 3, nicknamed “The Chute,” has been known to yield birdies, but the line of mature trees on its left side can quickly stymie that hope.
Hole 16: This may be a par 3, but it's been called "downright evil" by The Palms Golf Club at Forest Lakes for its location by the creek. The water hazard tends to swallow up any balls hit short, as well as any balls chipped too hard from just over the green.
