Scientists agree that the only reason adults have children is so they have a socially acceptable reason to visit amusement parks, eat at novelty pizza arcades, and see movies with Shreks in them. Put some fun in the oven with today's kid-friendly Groupon: for $10, you get a five-visit punch pass for play group, playground, and open swim at The Peak in Perry (a $20 value).
The Peak's compassionate and talented instructors host a plethora of programs inside a spacious facility, designed to elevate children's fitness levels while distracting them with fun. The multi-use five-punch pass gains kids and supervisory parents access to play-group classes, playground hours, and open swim. Play-group class, currently held on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. and Thursday at 11:30 p.m., is for children up to five years old and combines free play, activities, and chatting for sociable parents. Amenable instructors guide wee ones through development-spurring activities, including catching and jumping, and teach them social skills by taking turns, sharing equipment, and debating Foucault's ideas on power analytics. Open play-land hours, Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., give kids a chance to climb and crawl around a playground boasting a slide and zip line.
When the weather warms up, The Peak opens their slide-festooned and heated pool for open swim. Each Friday from June 10 through August 12, children can splash around and practice mermaid sign language from 12 to 5 p.m. Parents are welcome to swim with their children for an additional punch-card punch, and for today's Groupon, open playground hours can be combined with play-group classes or open swim on the same visit for no additional punch-card punch.
