While the menu changes frequently, like the seasons or an awards show host's wardrobe, it always showcases savory boneless pork roast seasoned with aromatic herbs and spices. The People's Pig

From his quaint food cart, The People's Pig, Chef Cliff Allen serves gourmet wood-fired sandwiches that are all grilled on top of a wood fire grill. These sandwiches have earned attention from numerous publications around Portland. The menu—which changes frequently—has served a porchetta and arugula sandwich "that's cultivated a cult-like following," according to Portland Eater, who dubbed it one of Portland's most iconic sandwiches. Meanwhile, Portland Monthly named The People's Pig one of Portland's top food trucks.

But sandwiches, all of which are made from homemade bread and cooked atop their wood-fired grill, are just the beginning. Chef Allen prepares everything from scratch, slathering homemade marmalades onto fresh-baked sourdough, and ladling homemade hot soups into cups. He's even managed to master dessert, with sweet creations ranging from soft whoopie pies to strawberry shortcake to aromatic apple pie topped with a choice of sweet crumble or an entire brown sugar and bourbon-glazed ham.
