Q:

Do you have to get touch ups? Just curious how long it lasts

Robin P.  asked on  Sep 15, 2012

A:

Hi Robin, I highly recommend a follow-up after 6 weeks. During the healing process of the initial procedure, you will lose color, so a follow-up will refine any light areas. Also at the follow-up we can also make the eyeliner thicker, darker, etc. The follow-up will add longevity to your eyeliner. Depending on how thick/thin your wear your eyeliner, you can expect to last 3-5 years without any maintenance. Some wait even longer. Again this is based on personal preference. Thanks, Kim

Q:

I basically have half eyebrows, not just thin ones, due to thyroid issues. Will this procedure work for replacing brows that are not there? How long do they last?

Jennifer F.  asked on  Sep 15, 2012

A:

Yes Jennifer, Permanent Cosmetics is ideal for your situation. Lots of my clients have the same issue with their eyebrows. I draw the brows on by hair-strokes. Eyebrows typically last a couple of years before they require a maintenance treatment. Thanks, Kim

Q:

How much is the typical 6-week touch-up for upper and lower eyeliner?

Lilian L.  asked on  Sep 15, 2012

A:

I normally charge $125 for the follow-up...but my Groupon clients will receive an additional $25 discount. The follow-up for eyeliner is $100, after your follow-up you should not need any additional treatments for 3-5 years. I appreciate your asking this question, the cost of the follow-up is written in details of the Groupon, however, some ladies fail to see it. Thanks!

Q:

does this hurt? and does it peel ? how soon can we be in the pubic afterwards?

betty b.  asked on  Sep 15, 2012

A:

I use a topical numbing cream for about 20 mins prior to the procedure. Also during the procedure I apply another numbing agent that helps keep it numb. You will still be able to feel a little pressure on the eyeliner and a scraping feel on the eyebrows and lips. I recommend you take 800 mg Ibuprofun the night before. I doesnt scab or peel like a traditional tattoo. The area might get flaky but I give you an ointment to apply for a couple of days. The helps with the flaking. There is really any down time. Your permanent cosmetics will be darker that your traditional make-up for 2-3 days afterwards while it is healing. For eyeliner it will look like you have been crying afterwards. I dont recommend having a procedure done prior to having a special event.

Q:

Is it possible to stop by one of your salons to see pictures of eyes you've done. I've never had such a procedure and recall a friend's eyebrows in another state a few years ago.........looked too harsh. I would be interested in a brown eyeliner....but not severe. You can tell that I'm a bit anxious. Thanks very much. Jean

jean h.  asked on  Sep 17, 2012

A:

Sure, I always offer a free consultation. I have a portfolio with pictures and I also have permanent cosmetics. You can have your eyeliner done in any color, in any design. Since I work by appointment you just need to check with me when you want to come by and I can let you know which location I am working. Thanks, Kim

Q:

i am allergic to dyes in fabrics and wonder if this would be a problem for me. Can I be tested first and see what happens?

Sue L.  asked on  Sep 16, 2012

A:

There should not be any problems at all. Ladies that have allergies to over-the-counter make-up have permanent cosmetics for that reason. I can do a "prick" test if you would like.

Q:

I believe Flora founded Permanent Cosmetics as she has done permanent color on my lips and eyes. Can you tell me if this deal can be used with Flora?I don't know how to reach her now because I don't know her last name.

stephen t.  asked on  Sep 15, 2012

A:

I trained under Flora 12 years ago. She wasnt the founder of Permanent Cosmetics, just one of the very first ones to do it in Tennessee. I am not affiliated with her business. Thanks!
