Photographs transport people to an earlier time without the need to master quantum physics or pay the tolls associated with America’s wormhole highways. Capture fleeting moments for future examination with today’s Groupon: for $499, you get a four-hour photo booth rental from The Platinum Photo Booth (a $1,095 value). The package includes:
- Four hours of open photo booth time
- Two attendants to set up and run the booth
- Unlimited black or color prints with personalized logos
- Props such as masks, hats, and sunglasses
- A custom scrapbook of images
- Online hosting and a CD of all images
The Platinum Photo Booth’s mercenaries of memory preservation aid their clients in designing custom photo booths to complement any special occasion. Platinum staff will meet customers anywhere in Los Angeles, Ventura, or Orange Counties to hash out the particulars of their rental, including color coordinating the booth’s drapery, choosing a scrapbook design, and determining how large of a human pyramid can safely fit inside. On the special day, a pair of attendants set up the booth and ensures its continued functionality for four hours of furious shutterbugging. Ample numbers of guests pile in, posing in masks, hats, and glasses upon a velvet-draped bench and shag rug as the camera captures their spontaneous tableaux. Pictures print on two black-and-white or color strips emblazoned with personalized event logos, including names, dates, and scattershot marriage proposals.
Guests may stick their images into the customized scrapbook, adding a short message of goodwill or apology for the horrific hors d’oeuvres-splattering incident. After the event is over, the technicians print a CD of all the images to make prints or use as an extremely sentimental coaster, along with uploading them all to an online gallery.

About Platinum Photo Booth
While working in the wedding industry, Erin Michele Doran identified the potential for innovation in one wedding staple: the photo booth. Conventional booths were stuffy and boxy, with rigid lines that gave the booths an industrial feel. Erin decided to break the mold by designing a fleet of photo booths with more luxurious touches. Her company's photo booths boast draped benches, softer lighting, and more space for smiling party guests. The staff also customizes its photo booths for each event so the booth blends seamlessly with the party decor.
