The Poacher's Arms
In the words of its new management and staff, The Poacher's Arms stays "true to the pub tradition." With rib-sticking comestibles, plenty of brews, pool tables, and an interior with more wood than sunlight, this appears to be an accurate statement. Staffers also boast that the pub is London's oldest, and after a taste of its made-to-order comfort food, or a few verses in their private karaoke rooms, it's not hard to see why that's probably true. Despite the Arms' commitment to bar tradition—seen in everything from its cozy atmosphere to its no-pet-dinosaurs policy—it also continually evolves with its patrons' interests. That’s why the bar features Trivia Tuesdays and daily crafting circles. It's also why the new menu complements its burgers and shepherd's pies with inventive, healthy fare such as warm quinoa salad and ratatouille grilled cheese sandwiches.
