Battling ferocious, fire-breathing dragons, proving his might and moral fortitude for king and country, sacrificing everything in the face of impossible odds -- it's no wonder the mythic warrior Beowulf has been called the "original superhero." Now the mother of all monster tales gets new life as The Poets' Theatre transforms the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center into a medieval mead hall full of food, drink, music, dancing, juggling and Viking combat. Heroes of all ages will get wrapped up in this lively take on the English language's original adventure story, as translated by Cambridge's own Nobel Laureate, Seamus Heaney. Plus, your ticket includes viking appetizers and a beverage.
Please note: There will be no Viking combat on Saturday, December 19th.
The show is open to children of all ages. The show runs 90 minutes without intermission, though there are two short interludes when people can move about if necessary. All patrons must have a ticket.
