About The Power Center
Between his NFL career with the Buffalo Bills and subsequent role as host of many ESPN sports specials, John Nies is something of a sports expert. Curiosity about ancient Eastern training led him into an eight-year apprenticeship with a doctor of Chinese medicine who showed John another side to training. John combined the two disciplines into his signature East West Chi Camp and opened The Power Center, a place for athletes and regular exercisers to transform both mind and body.
With the assistance of his team of trainers, John teaches classes that run the gamut from fun cardio kickboxing to full on, traditional wing chun kung fu training. He encourages students to study and embrace a simple philosophy he calls the seven disciplines, which infuse fitness with simple tenets such as nourishing your body, connecting with nature, and being able to count to at least seven.
