The day before Miles Petty's 24th birthday, he opened the refrigerator to find a gargantuan apple haul that his mom had picked up at a farmer's market. He didn't want all those apples to go to waste, and he decided it was a shame that he'd almost made it to the age of 24 without ever making a pie. So Miles began to bake, and he discovered his calling along the way.
That first pie led to more pies, which led to a passion for food, which eventually led to him founding The Press—a bistro devoted to cider and pie. The Press puts a gourmet spin on quintessentially American, crowd-pleasing favorites. Chefs use only the freshest ingredients to craft hand-pressed ciders and pies, both sweet and savory. That emphasis on local extends from the kitchen's ingredients to the entertainment: The Press hosts local live music acts on Wednesday nights.
