There’s a proud tradition of men dressing as women in comedy, but much less common is the female comedian donning men’s garb. The Feminine Gentlemen are out to change that. Two of Chicago’s favorite funny women, Liz McArthur and Jill Valentine put on fake mustaches, stuff socks down their pants and let the hilarity ensue in their latest sketch show, Stage Fright: Unprepared, Blanking and Sketching as We Go. The two comedy veterans began as members of the popular musical sketch comedy/burlesque group Off Off Broadzway and are co-producers of the Chicago Women’s Funny Festival. The Feminine Gentlemen first made a splash with a sold-out performance at the 2012 Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival and have since become crowd favorites. Now you can catch them at The Public House Theatre.
