About The Ranch House

John Lennon. Paul Newman. Barbra Streisand. Although it's tucked away in the Ojai Valley, The Ranch House—voted one of OpenTable's most romantic restaurants in America—is no stranger to notable guests. The latest arrivals are also the restaurant's new owners: Italian artist Maria Angela Perna and hotelier Steve Edelson carry on the legacy of legendary founder Alan Hooker. They brought with them executive chef Sean Kingsbury, who oversees a menu of farm-to-table American cuisine created without the culinary crutches of freezers, fryers, or microwave ovens.

Lauded on an episode of Food Network’s The Best Thing I Ever Ate, the seasonal cuisine changes along with the calendar. Recent menus included a mint-crusted rack of lamb, filet mignon crowned with truffle butter, and coffee-chipotle braised short ribs. To complement those flavors, the restaurant offers a Wine Spectator award-winning wine list with approximately 650 selections. After their meal, guests can tour the rest of The Ranch House grounds, working off the meal as they stroll through the herb garden and bakery.
