Dubbed “America’s power couple of chamber music” by The Wall Street Journal, pianist Wu Han and cellist David Finckel are the husband-and-wife duo who often mix business with musical pleasure as on-stage collaborators, co-owners of a record label and co-artistic directors of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. And they often team with Finckel’s Emerson String Quartet colleague, violinist Philip Setzer, for the performance of piano trios. The threesome have actually released recordings of those works by Schubert, Mendelssohn and Dvorak, and now they’re taking on Beethoven’s piano trios Opus 1 and Opus 70, Nos. 1 and 2, for this much-anticipated concert at St. Paul’s Ordway Center Concert Hall. There’s a pre-show talk and complimentary coffee available prior to this morning concert.
