Q:

Can my 13 year old daughter participate in this class or is it strictly for adults? She is crafty with a needle and thread and we both are interested in learning to sew with a machine.

heidi p.  asked on  Dec 16, 2012

A:

HI Heidi, It is great to hear that both you and your daughter are interested in the Beginner Basic course. This Groupon in particular for the Beginner Basic class is geared for adults. We find that the average age of most of our students who join us for beginner basic are between the ages of 25 and 40, there are some younger students who succeed in the program as well as more mature students. The class is meant for students ages 15 and up, however if you will be attending with your daughter and feel that you will be able to assist her in keeping up with the pace of the class, that will be fine. We do offer kids classes and camps that are more focused towards her age range and peer group which you can learn more about here: https://www.lovesewing.com/SummerSewingCamps/tabid/591/Default.aspx We look forward to seeing you both at the sewing studio. Best,

Q:

Can I buy this as a gift for a 9 year old girl? Are there a number of classes to choose from after school and on weekends? Rita Hoff

Rita H.  asked on  Dec 15, 2012

A:

Hi Rita, thank you for reaching out to us. We do offer a lot of kids classes and camps for ages 8 years old and up. However this Groupon in particular for the Beginner Basic class is geared for adults. The class is faster paced then out kids courses and we find that the average age of most of our students who join us for beginner basic are between the ages of 25 and 40, there are some younger students who succeed in the program as well as more mature students. I would suggest checking out our kids classes/camps here: https://www.lovesewing.com/SummerSewingCamps/tabid/591/Default.aspx which would be more peer and project focused for a 9 year old. If you are look to offer a class as a gift, a gift cards would be a great option. You can contact us directly at toronto@lovesewing.com for all gift cards. Best,
