About The Sherlock Holmes Pub
Walking up to the Sherlock Holmes Pub downtown feels a lot like hopping across the pond. A red telephone box pops against the greenery climbing the chalet-style building, as do colorful umbrellas shading the patrons drinking on the patio. Inside, you'll find proper imperial pints, including Colleen's Amber Ale—it's produced exclusively for Sherlock by Hogshead Brewery, and $0.50 of each one sold is donated to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
There are two other Sherlock Holmes Pub Locations—one on the University of Alberta campus, and one in the West Edmonton Mall—that share the same sensibility: classic English charm and camaraderie, boosted by the scent of freshly filleted fish and chips. The menus run the gamut from homemade meatloaf to indian butter chicken, and the burgers are stacked with gourmet ingredients such as Alberta bison and tempura banana peppers. Brunch includes English breakfast, and weekends herald special events, including live music, open-mic nights, and mass signings of petitions against Mondays.
